I work with Avaaz.org, a...Dear Kristen and Robbie,

I work with Avaaz.org, a 30-million-person global campaign community that works to ensure that the views and values of the world's people help shape global decision-making on issues like human rights and social justice.

While looking for an image to use in a Christmas-themed advertisement for a privacy-campaign we’re running in Canada, I came across your fantastic blog page and I’d like to know if we can use one of the images you've posted -- the one of your adorable daughter with Santa.

This is what our campaign is about:
The Canadian government is trying to pass a law that could systematically dismantle key civil liberties by making it easier for authorities to spy on everything we do online and even secretly track our movements. This is link to our campaign: http://www.avaaz.org/en/harpers_web_loc/

This is scary stuff and we’re doing everything we can to help stop it, including running a one-day ad in a newspaper in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. We’d love to be able to use the image of your daughter Kaelyn crying on Santa’s lap in that advertisement if it’s ok with you. This ad could be a crucial step in stopping this invasion of our privacy, and the picture of your daughter would be wonderful to use for it.

Can you please send me a quick note at your earliest convenience and let me know if this is ok with you? I’d be happy to discuss further as well. Please feel free to let me know how best to reach you by phone as well. You can reach me at: jeremy.waiser@avaaz.org

Merry Christmas, talk soon,
JeremyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1312750857848281725.post-84031535721781290362013-12-18T17:33:36.510-06:002013-12-18T17:33:36.510-06:00Dear Kristen and Robbie,
