Thank goodness I'm starting to feel better because Kaelyn is keeping us on our toes. Here are a couple of funny stories (although they weren't funny at the time, we can laugh now).
Yesterday, she was very defiant and getting into trouble a lot. We have started hand spankings and I have to admit that Kaelyn probably got 10 yesterday alone. She kept getting into everything that she knows she's not supposed to touch (the fireplace screen, Daddy's electronics, and Mommy's china cabinet). After the final "No, Kaelyn," she gladly held out her hand for a spanking! Am I crazy? Clearly, this punishment wasn't working like I thought it was. By the time her daddy was on his way home, she and I both needed rescued! Thank goodness for a fun daddy who could lift the mood in the house.
Today we had a follow-up doctor's visit for Baby Hudson (everything checked out greatly) and then we ran a few errands while we were out. We got home in time for her afternoon nap. I laid Kaelyn down around 2 p.m. Forty-five minutes later, I hear a ka-plunk and then her crying. Thinking she'd figured out how to climb out of her crib, I ran upstairs. Thankfully, she was still in her bed. I gave her a glass of milk, put her back down, and then I hear her talking really loudly and smiling into the monitor camera (as if she's making faces at me). Did she know that I was watching her? Finally at 3:30 (after an hour and a half), she decided to curl up with her lovies and fall asleep.
Our little girl is very smart and I think we've hit a stage for her to test the waters. Dear Lord, please be with us as we navigate these toddler years. We've only just begun!
