Jump Into July

I cannot begin to explain how busy the month of July has been for us. After finishing Kaelyn's birthday party on June 30th, we hit the ground running.

We finished off the month of June with Vacation Bible School at our church. The kids had a great week and I enjoyed being able to volunteer with some of my girlfriends.

Kaelyn getting ready to rock out!

Rylan enjoying his bible lesson.

We thankfully sold our house after it being on the market for 5 months and moved out on Thursday, July 5th. Moving from our house with 3000 sq. ft. into a small 2 bedroom apartment has been quite the adjustment for our family, but we are making the most out of it and enjoying different aspects of apartment living. Kaelyn still asks Rylan if "he wants to go upstairs to play" and I just laugh and tell her "honey, we are upstairs." This is it until our new house is built. The kids are still asking for some of their toys that are in storage, but it will be like Christmas morning when we start unpacking in the new house. I will admit that the people who bought our house definitely made this whole process really awful for us, but now that we are on the other side of it, I'm choosing to move on (literally)! Our new home is scheduled to be done sometime in early November and we love driving by it each week to see how the progress is coming. I cannot wait!

The framing has begun...

We've also enjoyed many playdates and fun activities with our small group friends from church. We recently went to the Frisco Commons splash park and had a blast!

Kaelyn and Edie McCuiston chased each other
around the park. I think Kaelyn is getting set to RUN...

Henry McCuiston was great with Rylan!

The week of July 15-21, Robbie was on vacation. We spent Monday and Tuesday here in town going to the Frisco Athletic Center water park and to the Dallas Zoo. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the animals and getting to feed some of them. It was our first visit to the Dallas Zoo and we liked it a lot. We packed our lunch and enjoyed the HOT summer day. Thank goodness for the spritzer fans that helped cool us off!

Meeting the Kangaroo statue upon entering the zoo.

The kids loved the childrens' petting zoo.

All the birds landed on Daddy and the kids loved it!

Mommy's favorite, the Koala bears

Kaelyn was tickled that the penguin came up to her in the window.

Getting tired, but still had to sit on the elephant statues.

Elephants have always been a favorite of Kaelyn's.

It was amazing how close the Giraffes were to us.
We all loved seeing how beautiful they were.
Amazed at God's creations!

This time Kaelyn's favorite animal were the "Stinky Pigs."
I think she was hoping for something cute like her Piglet,
so when she saw these guys, she laughed a lot!

The massive lions rested by the air conditioned windows.

On Wednesday after Kaelyn got out of dance class, we headed to Lake Limestone to spend the rest of the week relaxing with my side of the family. We enjoyed my aunt and uncle's lakehouse and the kids loved being outdoors for the majority of the time. After the craziness of the beginning of the month, it was so nice to relax and unwind. Since we are on the second floor of our apartment complex, we've had to teach the kids to walk quietly and not to jump around. The first thing they did when we arrived was dance, jump, and stomp as loudly as they could. Robbie and I laughed and let them go all at it!

Swimming with Pop

Rylan enjoyed playing on the dock with toys!

Kaelyn handing KK a piece of meat for fish bait.

Fishing with KK
(My family isn't big on fishing, but it's amazing what
they all do for the grandkids and niece and nephew)

And what do you know...Kaelyn caught her first fish
(she actually caught three little ones)

Kaelyn skiing for the first time this summer.

Waving to her onlookers!

Dad skiing at almost 54 years...

Uncle Kylen taking his turn.

The kids loved playing in the boat which
was nice and shady at different times of the day.

Rylan having a conversation with a bungee cord (silly boy).

Slippin' Slide Fun

Rylan as our boat driver. Such a cute driver!

Kaelyn got a pink kneeboard for her birthday from
Pop, KK, Karlene, Keeton, Kylen and Grandad Jim.
She rode it once in the water, but Ry really liked riding it
in the grass with Pop pulling him.

"Pull your pants up, boy!"

Things are pretty calm currently, but will begin picking up as I head back to work after three years of staying home. I couldn't be more excited to get back to teaching, but it's a little bittersweet too. I know that Kaelyn and Rylan will adjust and love their new school and this change will be great for all of us. More updates coming soon!
