On Friday night, February 17th, Robbie and Kaelyn attended their third annual Princess Ball at our church. Robbie and I started talking about the date in advance with Kaelyn, and she had been anxiously awaiting the night for several weeks. This year she helped pick out her Princess Ball dress (which we also use for our Easter dress). When we were at the store trying it on, she stood in front of the mirror to make sure it "twirled" enough for her liking. The morning of the ball, she reminded her daddy of all the things he needed to wear for their evening date. She said, "jacket, pink shirt, pink tie, and shoes." When she woke from her afternoon nap, we began the task of getting the Princess ready by painting her toes and fingernails and then finished with curling her hair and putting on her bow. We got together with our friends to take pictures, but Kaelyn was acting shy and didn't join in with her friends for the pictures. Thankfully, I was able to snap a few of Kaelyn and her daddy though.

But, she was all about individual pictures

Robbie said that they had a great time. She especially loved dancing on the stage where they had the screen flashing fun colors. By the end of the evening, Kaelyn wasn't quite slowing down, but instead finished off the night with sommersaults. They made it home around 9:15 p.m. and she was very excited to show off her dance moves. I think it's safe to say she had a great date with her daddy! She already asked if she can go again. A year away is a long time to wait! We are looking forward to next year's Princess Ball already.

Lastly, I cannot forget mommy's sweet date for the evening. Rylan and I joined the other moms and sons for dinner at GattiTown. He was so tuckered out that we headed home and he fell asleep in my arms before turning in for the night. I'm looking forward to a date with him again this time next year.
Sweet sleeping boy!
